At the bend in the Rillito, a unique public/private partnership is gathering momentum to build a visionary park to serve Tucson and its metropolitan areas. The Fenton family inititiated conversation with Pima County to express a dream that will memorialize their compassionate and devoted child, Brandi, who died in 2003. This dream is being realized as a matchless resource for our growing community with its diverse interests and passions. The historic site, between River Road and the Rillito River, west of Dodge Boulevard is now home for a most unusual Tucson treasure.

The plans for Tucson's newest and most innovative park include:

  • Establishment of the only equestrian center in the region
  • Provision for three soccer fields
  • Provision for four basketball courts, including two covered courts
  • Implimentation of a children's splash park
  • Establishment of dog runs for both large and small dogs
  • Provision for active and passive recreation
  • Development of ramadas with enhanced landscape elements
  • Interpretation of historic and prehistoric cultures that have resided on the site
  • Preservation of an historic Mormon agrarian community in Tucson
  • Establishment of a community garden and a farmer's market
  • Design of a memorial garden where other families can memorialize loved ones
  • Expansion of educational opportunities in agriculture and history
